Total War: WARHAMMER Wiki

New life springs forth at every touch – a debt only the death of his enemies can pay for.

Aekold Helbrass is a Tzeentch, Daemons of Chaos and Warriors of Chaos Legendary Hero unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer III with Update 4.0.

For Warriors of Chaos he can be recruited by: Warhost of the Apocalypse, Heralds of the Tempest, The Decadent Host, Puppets of Misrule and Shadow Legion.

Recruitment[]

Description[]

Once a noble son of the Empire, Aekold Helbrass found his true purpose on the edge of the Chaos Wastes. There he came upon a large Chaos altar, rippling with malevolent energy. Suddenly greeted by a mirror image of himself enrobed in imperial garb, his true enemy became clear. In return for slaying his former self, he was reborn as a Champion of Tzeentch, with arcane gifts unlike anything the mortal world had seen before. Where Aekold walks the grass springs green and meadow flowers blossom, encouraging new life in a glorious act of change. When the time for war comes, no warrior of Tzeentch shall fall beside him without the Breath of Life lifting them from their knees, imbuing them with the strength to raise their blades against the enemies of fate once more.

Attributes[]

  • Sword Infantry
  • Armoured: Armoured units can block damage from any source apart from Armour-Piercing damage.
  • Barrier: This unit has a barrier that absorbs damage until depleted. When not taking damage, the barrier will slowly replenish. Maximum barrier health is proporsional to remaining unit health.

Typical "tanky melee Hero". Aekold is a mediorce duelist without support, and should be used with your frontline against medium-armor infantry. Funnily enough, he provides -20% magic cost to Lore of Life which only 3 people in Tzeentch can access: Kairos can partially access it, The Blue Scribes can randomly access it while The Changeling needs to defeat a Lore of Life user such as The Fay Enchantress or Alarielle (or randomly get the forms from one of the quests), or stealing Heroes that use Lore of Life, so if you fight against enemies that use Lore of Life, this pretty much works against you (and since most of the races, the Ordetide, that fight against you use Lore of Life, this can be very dangerous).

In the campaign, he provides replenishment which is always useful and the ability to heal, even on foreign and hostile territory.
