The Motherland's finest warriors fight tirelessly, knowing that a well-earned drink or twelve awaits all who survive the battle.

Armoured Kossars are a Kislev melee infantry unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer III.

Recruitment[]

Description[]

Armoured Kossars are full-time soldiers, either paid by the crown or simply supported by their wealthy families. As such, their time is spent entirely either training or carousing. They are dour, grim-faced killers on the battlefield, but after the battle is done, they are the most belligerent, boisterous and hard-drinking of all the celebrants at a victory feast. They wear heavy armour above the waist, and sturdy reinforced boots, though their legs are clad only in baggy trousers. This is a weakness in protracted combat, but it helps them resist undue fatigue – and keep pace on a long march.

Attributes[]

  • Pistol & Axe Infantry
  • Armoured & Shielded: Armoured units can block damage from any source apart from Armour-Piercing damage. Shields have a chance of blocking arrows, bolts, rifle shots and similar small arms fire - but only in a forward facing arc.
  • Special Ranged Weapon: This unit possesses a missile attack which is uncommon for this type of unit.

Strategy[]

In many ways, the all-round strengths of Armoured Kossars give the impression of a Tier 3 infantry unit, and are only hampered by limited numbers so that they're relegated to being tier 2 units. Armored Kossars quickly chew through most tier 1 infantry. And enemy tier 2 infantry give them a very even fight, if they aren't shot to bits by the time they clash.

If their opening volleys can't thin the enemy ranks enough, your Armoured Kossars can have a rough time, and take very heavy casualties. For this reason, make sure to have more dedicated range to help support them.
