Banners are items that can be obtained by lords over the course of a campaign.
How banners work
Banners can also be called standards, flags, totems, pennants etc.
Banners must be assigned to lords on the character inventory screen, in the same space as followers. Once a banner has been assigned to a lord, it can be equipped onto specific units in the battle preview panel, by clicking and dragging the banner onto the unit card. The banner will then provide that unit with various stat bonuses, attributes, and new abilities in the battle. Some banners have a special passive ability, which can apply a radius around the unit.
This ancillary is equipped by the lord and then assigned to any unit, including the lord, in the pre-battle menu.
Banners which are not race-specific can be lost to other factions if you lose a battle.
Banners should not be confused with Marks of Chaos or Runes, which are similar.
