Description[ | ]
The Daemon hordes of Khorne consist of ferocious Bloodletters, deadly warriors believed to have been foremost amongst the Blood God's followers in mortal life and whose will is as implacable and blood-hungry as Khorne himself. When loosed to the fray, Bloodletters sprint from one enemy to the next, hacking the foe apart before springing away in search of new victims. With each fresh kill, the Bloodletters loose great shouts of victory that echo across the battlefield and chill the souls of all who hear.
Attributes[ | ]
Greatsword Infantry
- ▲ Armour-Piercing: The damage of
armour-piercing weapons mostly ignores the armour of the target, making them the ideal choice against heavily-armoured enemies. They are often heavier and attack at a slower rate though, making them less efficient against poorly-armoured targets.
- ▲ Anti-Infantry: Anti-infantry units have an advantage against targets that are smaller than a horse. This advantage can be a damage bonus against small targets, superior weight used to smash through lighter enemies, or an explosive attack from range that effects a large area.

Strategy[ | ]
Bloodletters are the main foot soldiers for Khorne, and will form the core of most of your armies. They are extremely powerful melee units, and relatively easy to recruit at that, being available from a Tier 1 Daemonic Gateway Major Settlement. They are speedy and pack a punch in melee with good armor piercing and anti-infantry capabilities as well as a high charge bonus, allowing them to easily chew through most other infantry.
Their main weakness are their high cost (along with most Daemonic units) and low melee defense and armor. Keep them away from large monsters and cavalry, as well as ranged enemy units. They can be thought of as a "shock troop" in the sense that they do best in encounters where they can quickly engage the enemy and rack up dozens of kills. Their lack of armor and melee defense in comparison to Chaos Warriors of Khorne means that they are somewhat squishy in comparison, meaning that you'll have to rely on their killing power to sweep away the enemy quickly.
Bloodletters also fair poorly in auto-resolve, and are prone to being annihilated when ordinarily, and in actual battle, they will brutalise most early to mid game infantry.
Early on and perhaps through most of the campaign, Bloodletters of Khorne work quite well with Chaos Warriors of Khorne; the Warriors absorb the shock of an enemy assault and hold the opponent in place, while the Bloodletters carve a bloody path through the flanks.
Trivia[ | ]
Bloodletters have killed the most in total, according to Total War 2023 Year in Review, with a whopping 1.33 billion kills.
