Description[ | ]
Those few who have confronted a Bloodthirster and survived commonly recall an overwhelming impression of vast size and unchecked barbarity, of roaring and snarling death riding upon stygian wings that eclipse the sun. A Bloodthirster's ruddy skin is covered with coarse fur and brass armour, slick and gleaming with the blood of innumerable victims. This armour is forged upon the Daemon's flesh by Khorne himself and thereafter becomes a living part of the Daemon, even whilst maintaining a brutal intelligence of its own. As such, even the Bloodthirster's armour is wrathful and longs for slaughter.
Attributes[ | ]
Flying Monster
- ▲ Armour-Piercing: The damage of
armour-piercing weapons mostly ignores the armour of the target, making them the ideal choice against heavily-armoured enemies. They are often heavier and attack at a slower rate though, making them less efficient against poorly-armoured targets.
- ▲ Anti-Large: Anti-Large: Anti-large units have an advantage against targets that are at least as large as a horse. This advantage can be a
damage bonus against large targets or an attack that focuses on a very small area. However, some units are simply better against large targets because their attacks are slow and easy to dodge by skilled melee combatants.
- ▲ Causes Terror: This unit can cause terror, making its melee target rout for a short time. Units that cause terror are immune to terror and fear themselves.
- ▲ Flaming Attacks: This unit inflicts flaming attacks. Units hit by flaming attack heal at half the usual rate whilst
'on fire' and sustain additional damage if vulnurable to fire.

Strategy[ | ]
The Bloodthirster is a unique enemy among the Khorne roster. He's anti-large, something that Khorne's roster notably lacks. He can also fly, which makes him stand out for his mobility in a faction with virtually no ranged or artillery units. Combined with his enormous stats and armour-piercing, these traits cause Bloodthirsters to excel at destroying dangerous and powerful individual opponents. Have him fly around the battlefield looking for prime targets including lords, heroes and enemy monsters. In straight up duels he'll win almost every single time. Alternatively he's a great option to reinforce an existing unit if they're wavering in a fight against cavalry or infantry due to his mobility, and he can reinforce an existing battle line with his immense strength quite easily. Being a very large monster he has the usual problem of being weak to ranged attacks to worry about. Keep him away from archers and gunners, who can bring him down relatively quickly from afar. He's also one of the most expensive units in the game, so be mindful of the price you'll pay for him.
