Boris Todbringer is a man of singular action and determined purpose: to rid the forest of Khazrak's bestial scourge.

Boris Todbringer is an Reikland Empire Legendary Lord unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer with Call of the Beastmen. In the campaign, he leads Middenland Middenland.

Unlocking[ | ]

  • Total War: Warhammer: Upon completing An Eye For An Eye, Boris becomes a playable Empire lord in custom battle and multiplayer.
  • Boris is not playable in Total War Warhammer 2 or 3, unless he is confederated by the player's Imperial faction (Karl Franz, Volkmar the Grim or Markus Wulfhart.)

Description[ | ]

Boris Todbringer is a man of blunt truth and affirmative action, but in the election for Emperor of 2502 he was outplayed by the "foolish young pup" Karl Franz and his allies. Finding himself in the shadow of the Cult of Sigmar and denied the throne, Todbringer raged at the newly-anointed Emperor until the Beastmen raids into the Drakwald reminded him that his sacred duties were more important than mere political squabbles, no matter the cost to his status. Like all Middenheimers and men of Ulric, Boris Todbringer never takes a challenge lightly, and so brought total war to the Beastmen and their leader, Khazrak. The feud between them became the stuff of legend; Boris took one of Khazrak's eyes only to lose one of his own by the Beastlord's hand at a later date. This visceral struggle made Todbringer forget his political rivalry with Altdorf in favour of a worthier cause: fighting evil in the Drakwald – the seemingly impossible task of cleansing the forest of its bestial taint and bringing security to the Empire's borderlands.

  • Boris has slightly higher melee attack and melee defence than a regular Empire General. In multiplayer and custom battles he has access to The Middenland Runefang which allows him to regenerate, making him and Volkmar the only Legendary Lords of the Empire to do so. These attributes make Boris a more conservative or sustainable Karl Franz (when both are mounted on their griffon). This is because Boris can heal himself and does not need the help of the Lore of Life. Karl is much more offensive however, and can do much more burst damage with Ghal Maraz.
  • Combining The White Cloak of Ulric and Crush the Weak, Boris imbues a constant -14 Melee attack and -9 Melee defence so long as the opponents leadership is below half. That is a significant blow to enemy combat stats, and with Boris on his Griffon mount it is much easier to attain (Fear, Terror, and Bloodroar).
