Bretonnia has one of the most specialized unit rosters in the game, that specialisation being cavalry. They excel over every other race in the game in this regard, with some cavalry units dedicated specifically to engaging large entities and others more adept at killing infantry. Despite not being a magic-adept faction, the lores of magic which they have access to compliment their playstyle quite well, letting them heal and buff their cavalry even further.

The flip side of this is their melee infantry, which is the weakest in the game outside of Skaven Clanrats and Skavenslaves - and their ranged and artillery options are not much better. At best they serve to provide an anvil for your horsemen, at worst they're a distraction which will quickly rout when put in front of even the weakest warbeasts or armoured infantry. Bretonnia is ALL about getting your money's worth out of those riders of yours.

Bretonnia is a FLC race playable in Total War: Warhammer, Total War: Warhammer II and Total War: Warhammer III (only in the Immortal Empires campaign).
