Total War: WARHAMMER Wiki

Notoriety can be acquired for a number of reasons, but mostly for those of the insalubrious kind.

Burke Black is a Vampire Coast Unique Lord unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer II with Curse of the Vampire Coast, available in campaign only.

Recruitment[]

  • After researching Notorious Admiral, select any Settlement or Lord that has access to Shipbuilding and recruit him in the Lord Recruit tab

Attributes[]

  • Wizard
  • Spellcaster: This unit can cast spells.
  • Armour-Piercing Melee: The damage of armour-piercing weapons mostly ignores the armour of the target, making them the ideal choice against heavily-armoured enemies. They are often heavier and attack at a slower rate though, making them less efficient against poorly-armoured targets.
  • Anti-Large: Anti-Large: Anti-large units have an advantage against targets that are at least as large as a horse. This advantage can be a damage bonus against large targets or an attack that focuses on a very small area. However, some units are simply better against large targets because their attacks are slow and easy to dodge by skilled melee combatants.
  • Aquatic: Where other units of small stature struggle to fight and move in shallow water, Aquatic units excel.

Strategy[]

Burke Black is the strongest of the Legendary Admirals for commanding an army with his bonuses to physical resistance and weapon strength. As an individual vampire, his Lore of Death spells may be slightly weaker than Vampire or Deep magic, but a vampire hero can join his army to cover these lores.

Burke Black is therefore a good choice for a first or second Legendary Admiral to develop. His army can be developed toward a melee build to make use of his weapon strength bonus, and further by focusing on higher health elite minions like Depth Guard, crabs, and Terrorgheist to get the most out of the physical resistance. This can be further enhanced by giving him the Warrant Officer position for a Depth Guard army, or the Beastmaster office for Terrorgheists.
