This page is about the Daemons of Chaos unit. For monogod units, see Chaos Furies (Khorne), Chaos Furies (Nurgle), Chaos Furies (Slaanesh) and Chaos Furies (Tzeentch).
The purest form of Ruinous energy, these Furies serve no one Chaos God in particular; their aspect changes with the balance of power as the Great Game rages.

Chaos Furies are a Warhost of the Apocalypse Warriors of Chaos war beasts unit in Total War: Warhammer III. They're also available to Wh3 main dae daemon prince 256 Daemons of Chaos in multiplayer.

Description[ | ]

Furies are yowling shards of malevolent energy - Chaos in its purest form. With little in the way of intelligence, they are utterly subservient to the whims of the Dark Gods, and shift in aspect and power as the balance of the dark pantheon alters. They are easily subjugated by other Daemons, whom they regard with a mix of dread and awe. Furies swarm at the edges of the battle, avoiding the thickest fighting if they can. Only when they sight a vulnerable victim do they descend, a wailing mass from which there can be no escape.

Strategy[ | ]

Chaos Furies are extremely weak melee units, acquired by the various Chaos Gods and Daemons of Chaos with their first Dimensional Rift. Furies are effectively used to pursue broken/routing units, flying over the walls of cities and attacking archers/artillery. It isn't recommended to use them as frontline infantry, especially the Non-Tzeentch Furies who lack protective barriers. Furies are Tier I units, it's often recommended to phase them out early on due to their lack of actual use, especially when more combat-efficient cavalry, Chaos Warriors and the God's respective Lesser Daemons (Daemonettes of Slaanesh, Bloodletters of Khorne, etc.) become a commonly acquired and expendable resource, taking the place of the Furies as cheap, expendable flankers and airbornes.
