Daemons of Chaos war beasts unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer III.
Recruitment[ | ]
Daemons of Chaos
Unlocked with: Dedicated Hovel (Khorne) and Dedicated Hovel (Minor) (Khorne)
Khorne
Unlocked with: Khornate Calefactor
Description[ | ]
Furies are yowling shards of malevolent energy – Chaos in its purest form. With little in the way of intelligence, they are utterly subservient to the whims of the Dark Gods, and shift in aspect and power as the balance of the dark pantheon alters. They are easily subjugated by other Daemons, whom they regard with a mix of dread and awe. Furies swarm at the edges of the battle, avoiding the thickest fighting if they can. Only when they sight a vulnerable victim do they descend, a wailing mass from which there can be no escape.
Attributes[ | ]
Flying Melee Infantry
- ▲ Very Fast: This unit can run circles around most other units, taunting and harrassing the enemy or evading its missile fire.
- ▲ Vanguard Deployment: This unit can deploy in an expanded deployment area, allowing it to start the battle within striking distance of the enemy - or somewhere unexpected.

Strategy[ | ]
Out of all the Chaos factions, Khorne has probably the most use for Furies. Simply have your winged monkeys descend on the enemy's artillery or ranged units as quickly as they can. It doesn't matter if they actually accomplish anything, the important thing is that those units are distracted enough for the rest of your army to take the minimum amount of damage before they get into battle. The relative speed of Khorne syncs up with Furies nicely and there's a fair chance of them surviving if deployed well.
They are vying with Flesh Hounds for this sort of rapid distraction/chase down role in your army, but are considerably more disposable and early game-ish.
