Winged Daemons, murderous Nurgle energy made flesh, that prey upon the weak from the margins of battle.

Chaos Furies (Nurgle) are a Nurgle and Daemons of Chaos war beasts unit in Total War: Warhammer III.

Recruitment[]

Description[]

Furies are yowling shards of malevolent energy – Chaos in its purest form. With little in the way of intelligence, they are utterly subservient to the whims of the Dark Gods, and shift in aspect and power as the balance of the dark pantheon alters. They are easily subjugated by other Daemons, whom they regard with a mix of dread and awe. Furies swarm at the edges of the battle, avoiding the thickest fighting if they can. Only when they sight a vulnerable victim do they descend, a wailing mass from which there can be no escape.

Attributes[]

  • Flying Melee Infantry
  • Very Fast: This unit can run circles around most other units, taunting and harrassing the enemy or evading its missile fire.
  • Vanguard Deployment: This unit can deploy in an expanded deployment area, allowing it to start the battle within striking distance of the enemy - or somewhere unexpected.

Passive Abilities[]

Strategy[]

Nurgle's general slowness both works for and against Furies in their roster. On the one hand, having an actually fast unit to harass ranged units until your big hitters have made it into combat is useful - on the other, it leaves the Furies themselves entirely on their own. Nurgle Furies should thus be considered total cannon fodder, units you're happy to lose to save a few of your more expensive models. They should be replaced with Plague Drones of Nurgle once your economy permits.
