Recruitment[ | ]

Description[ | ]

Chaos Warriors dedicated to the Dark Prince of Chaos are regarded by His lesser warriors as walking avatars of their God. They truly walk the path of damnation and excess, the strongest fated to become His chosen or mighty champions if they survive their ordeals. Although armour-clad, many leave portions of pale flesh bare as if to titillate opponents with the illusion of weakness, inviting them to attempt to strike at imagined weak spots. Consumed by their own dark passions, they appear distant and something other than human. Their followers bathe in this otherworldly glory, driven by the need for the great warriors’ approval to commit further atrocities.

The best use for Hellscourges overall is to pin an enemy down in a violent melee as part of a battle-line, buying time for a unit of Daemons (Daemonettes of Slaanesh to keep the narrative going), other warriors, Chaos Knights etc. to flank and pulverize the enemy lines. These units are very good fighters, boasting a massive MD stat and decent charge and MA, however they're about as fast as a clump of paraplegic Irondrakes, so it's best to use them defensively unless you have a couple thousand turns to kill.

Hellscourges have an "eh" amount of troops, sitting at 100 at Ultra. If they get hit with archers or artillery, their limited armour means they're done for, they do have a shield which can provide limited cover from missiles, but regardless it's best to reinforce them with their actually armoured brethren.

Hellscourges are completely immune to psychology effects, thanks to the Mark of Slaanesh, which provides Strider aswell, making it a viable tactic to stuff them in a treeline and start charging and hollering like a homeless man in Altdorf at anything that approaches.
