Clan Contracts is a campaign mechanic unique to Clan Eshin under Shadowy Dealings. The player will be offered a contract every few turns by any of the four major clans (Clan Mors, Clan Moulder, Clan Skryre, or Clan Pestilens), at random, against one another.
Completing a contract will yield rewards of food, money, increased reputation with the contracting clan, and decreased reputation with the targeted clan. Contracts can only be completed by Deathmaster Snikch, Master Assassins, Assassins, and Eshin Sorcerers, after which they will be unavailable to deploy on the map or in an army for a few turns afterward. Contracts have three tiers of difficulty and rewards, and will only be available for a limited number of turns.
Reputation serves as a measure of the trust between Clan Eshin and each of the four major clans. It is divided into six tiers that have different effects on diplomatic relations, unit recruitment costs, and campaign modifiers. Since the four clans are plotting against one another, accepting contracts will inevitably result in fluctuations in your relationship with them. Choosing which clans to favor and disfavor, to what degree, and whether to accept each contract will ultimately depend on your campaign strategy.
Destruction or confederation of a clan has no effect on this mechanic.
