Dark Land Orcs is a Greenskins faction introduced in Total War: Warhammer III.

Background[]

Before the Great Collapse in the 15th Century, the Dark Lands were fertile grasslands which supported a great many Greenskin tribes. The Collapse triggered a series of catastrophic tectonic shifts and volcanic eruptions which rendered them into the barely habitable wastes they are today. Most of the native Greenskins were forced westwards in a great migration, instigating the Goblin Wars.

However, not every Greenskin left the Dark Lands; some remained to scratch a living in this desolate landscape. Many would wind up enslaved by the Chaos Dwarfs, whose empire would come to dominate the region. The Greenskins have not taken this domination lying down; indeed in a great rebellion led by the Black Orcs they came close to toppling Zharr-Naggrund, and would have done were it not for the treachery of the Hobgoblins.

Some Greenskins, such as the Hobgoblins and the miserable Goblins of Mount Silverspear, now offer service and tribute to the Chaos Dwarfs in order to escape being worked to death in their hellish mines and factories. Others live the life of casual barbarity they always have, raiding outposts, military convoys and caravans wherever they can, proving if nothing else the great Greenskin proclivity of surviving in the toughest situations and then finding someone to pick a fight with.
