Strategy[]
Disciples of the Maw is sandwiched between factions that may declare war on him and factions that are supposed to be allies, but may declare war on him. Luckily, the said factions are often occupied with fighting against each other, granting you various choices of enemies to go for. Notably, these factions are often "allies" in the region, fighting against one of them will certainly cause negative impact in diplomacy towards the other one: Pirates of Sartosa, Clan Skyrre and Warherd of the Shadowgave are often allies (emphasizing on often, as they may declare war on each others), Clan Angrund and local Empire factions are often allies really early (Note that Clan Angrund is somewhat allied with Border Princes and they will certainly be angry if you fight against them due to being starting enemies).
Other than that, Disciples of the Maw's campaign is pretty interesting as you have multiple ways to expand and various quantities of enemies to fight against. Invade the Empire? The Southlands? The Eastern Dwarves/Greenskins/Skavens then return to the Ogres homeland to confederate Greasus? Or even go to Ulthuan? It's pretty much all possible and doable, even within 40-50 turns.
As this faction, you should actively make contributes towards the Great Maw to grand amazing buffs from the mechanic itself and Disciples of the Maw's unique mechanic: Path of the Butcher. The more meat you spend on offering, the more meat you gain from battles. It pays off greatly, especially with Skrag since he can get a stupid amount of movement bonuses in the early game, along with access to the Underway to catch the pesky nearby factions that also have access to it, assuming if you have to declare war against them.
Note that the Nemesis Crown is prone to spawn around these areas, especially Empire faction lands and having an enemy Lord equipped with it isn't really favorable, especially if it's something like Vlad.
