Exalted Great Unclean One (Nurgle) is a Nurgle and Daemons of Chaos Lord unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer III.
Recruitment[ | ]
- Nurgle and Daemons of Chaos
- Recruited with: Exalted of Nurgle dilemma
Description[ | ]
In perverse contrast to his horrific appearance, the Exalted Great Unclean One is neither morbid nor consumed with despair – if anything the opposite is true. Exalted Great Unclean Ones are exuberant in the pursuit of their enthusiasms. Gregarious and curiously sentimental, Exalted Great Unclean Ones hold their followers dear and even refer to them as their 'children'. They take great patriarchal pride in the achievements of their fellow creatures, proclaiming vociferously the splendours of the poxes and sores evinced by those around them, and bellow with hearty laughter in response to the destruction wrought in Nurgle's name.
Attributes[ | ]
- Wizard
- ▲ Spellcaster: This unit can cast spells.
- ▲ Armour-Piercing: The damage of armour-piercing weapons mostly ignores the armour of the target, making them the ideal choice against heavily-armoured enemies. They are often heavier and attack at a slower rate though, making them less efficient against poorly-armoured targets.
- ▲ Causes Terror: This unit can cause terror, making its melee target rout for a short time. Units that cause terror are immune to terror and fear themselves.

Strategy[ | ]
Large, tanky, terror-causing and armor-piercing single-entity with one of the top-tier Lore of Magic that allows the Exalted Great Unclean One to be even tankier. Put him in the frontline against infantries or tanking against enemy's monster while bolstering your own frontline's leadership, too. Fleshy Abundance and Children of Nurgle will keep this Lord fighting for even longer. Just be careful, as this much benefits also come with disadvantages such as being really, really large, making the Lord more vulnerable to ranged units and less mobility compare to a Herald of Nurgle on a Rotfly, making casting spells wherever it's needed slightly more difficult.
