== Description ==
Roaming across the frozen north are the woolly colossuses of the Old World – the gargantuan Feral Mammoths. With their elephantine trunks and great curved tusks, they are not unlike living mountains, feeding off the thorny barrens and causing the ground to quake as they follow their endless migration paths. The Northmen frequently seek them out as abandoned calves, for if a mammoth is trained early enough, it can be brought into battle as a highly effective trampling weapon that can easily reduce enemies to bloody ground-smears. Exposure to Chaos-tainted materials has resulted in some of the species mutating into larger and more aggressive versions of the regular feral variety, sometimes sprouting extra horns that make them desirable to be ridden into battle as War Mammoths.

== Strategy ==
Feral Mammoths wreak havoc on enemy lines with their tremendous HP pool and terror-causing capabilities. Although their melee stats aren't quite as high as the [[Norscan Giant]], their movement speed allows them to reach melee engagements faster than Giants, a crucial advantage when facing enemy missile and artillery fire. Be mindful of their tendency to rampage, but for the most part, these colossal beasts don't need much babysitting in the first place.

Feral Mammoths can also be recruited in one turn, versus two turns for the superior War Mammoth.  As such, they can be useful for raising an army quickly in a defensive situation or to rapidly raise a high density army faster than is possible with War Mammoths or Fimir units, which all require two turns to recruit.

Their only weakness is it's Feral Rage often gets this monster in unfavorable scenarios that can kill it even quicker such as being stuck in a blob of anti-large infantry while being shot by ranged units.
