ā€œ The Leechlord of Nurgle has but one purpose: to bring ever more repugnant forms of life into the world. ā€ž

Festus the Leechlord is a Warhost of the Apocalypse Warriors of Chaos and Nurgle Nurgle Legendary Lord unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer III with Champions of Chaos. In the campaign, he leads The Fecundites The Fecundites.

Description[ | ]

Stalking the northern forests in moth-eaten robes clinking with vials of unimaginable concoctions is the muttering, shuffling figure of Doctor Festus. Once a prolific curer of plagues in Nordland, he made a desperate pact with Nurgle after encountering a strain of Gnashing Fever he could not stem. Thus the Plague God filled his brilliant mind with every detail of every ailment known to the mortal world, washing away his compassion and replacing it with an intimate knowledge of disease and a desire to experiment. Though his curative powers are greater than ever before, woe betide the fool who crosses the Doctor, who delights in force-feeding his latest creations to unfortunate victims.

Introduction description[ | ]

From the day Doctor Festusā€™ brilliant mortal mind suffered its horrific awakening, the vagaries of fate had oft twisted in his favour. Never is the Leechlord happier than when planting Nurgleā€™s seeds of malady across the world, force-feeding his vile experimental concoctions to the many unfortunates who stray into his path. Yet soon shall be the dawn of a far greater opportunity for mass infection; the unleashing of a dark power so great, it shall be thirsted after by the Gods themselves. A means for the Doctor and his Patron to spread unbound life ā€“ and death ā€“ into the material realm on an unimaginable scale.
