The hunting beasts of Slaanesh, scorpion-tailed abominations whose twitching gait belies the nightmarish speed at which they ride down new victims.

Fiends of Slaanesh are a Slaanesh Slaanesh, Wh3 main dae daemon prince 256 Daemons of Chaos, and Warhost of the Apocalypse Warriors of Chaos monstrous infantry unit in Total War: Warhammer III.

Recruitment[ | ]

Description[ | ]

Fiends are incredibly swift, able to skitter and scuttle across all manner of terrain at frightening speed. There is something unnameably disturbing about a Fiend's gait, for its twitching dance rocks it from side to side. In this way, they take at least three or four steps for every pace they advance, splayed legs beating out an arrhythmic toccata which praises the glory of the Dark Prince of Chaos. The Fiends sing to one another as they run, emanating a high-pitched and pervasive chitter that few mortals consciously hear.

Attributes[ | ]

  • Wh3 main sla fiend Monstrous Infantry
  • Armour-Piercing: The damage of Modifier icon armour piercingarmour-piercing weapons mostly ignores the armour of the target, making them the ideal choice against heavily-armoured enemies. They are often heavier and attack at a slower rate though, making them less efficient against poorly-armoured targets.
  • Very Fast: This unit can run circles around most other units, taunting and harrassing the enemy or evading its missile fire.
  • Soporific Musk: The attacks of this unit reduce the enemy into a stupor, lowering their ability to attack and defend themselves.

Strategy[ | ]

Typically of Slaanesh but atypically of monstrous infantry generally, these cute little guys are extremely fast but not durable. They are in fact so fast you can have them roll with the cavalry with few issues if you choose, which may be a good idea if the enemy is heavy on spears and it would be better if they were attacking from the flank. They make a complete mockery of any type of armor and their ideal targets are the heaviest infantry or cavalry the enemy has that isn't anti-large. Their melee stats aren't fantastic but Soporific Musk helps them out there, and frankly if they aren't steamrolling their target by the time ten seconds are up you need to pull them out anyway.

Overall Fiends need to be treated more like Daemonettes than, say, Trolls or Minotaurs. It's your Warriors and Marauders that should be meeting the spears and monsters of the enemy while the Fiends tear through the weak points, then dealing with any ranged units in seconds or wrapping around from behind.
