Flaming Attacks are a damage channel attacks that halves the healing rate of a unit and does extra damage to units that are vulnerable to fire. Additionally, it gives a +50% damage multiplier against buildings.

Description[]

This unit inflicts flaming attacks. Units hit by flaming attacks heal at half the usual rate whilst 'on fire’ and sustain additional damage if vulnerable to fire. It also adds a +50% damage multiplier against buildings.

Overview[]

The flaming attack and fire damage terminology may cause confusion because abilities and spells are not technically attacks but are included in the damage channel. In other words, fire damage spells are always considered flaming attacks. Effects do not stack and can only be refreshed with each attack, ability or effect that triggers the flaming attack.

Units do not necessarily have flaming attacks on both their melee and ranged attacks. You can check whether a damage channel has flaming attacks enabled or not by locating a icon next to the melee attack stat for melee damage or next to the ammunition stat for missile damage. In addition, it can be accumulated with magical attacks or the default physical attacks. As flaming attacks are not considered a contact effect, it can stack with one contact effect, such as Poison!.

Some abilities, spells and units may have fire or related words in their name but may not have flaming attacks.

This type of damage can only be reduced with Fire Resistance or Ward Save. Most of the Lore of Fire damage dealing spells are imbued with fire damage, and the Flaming Sword of Rhuin grants the affected unit flaming attacks.

Flaming attacks can be innate to an unit, usually elite, or enabled with mostly rarer ancillaries, such as items and banners, and abilities.
