Recruitment[ | ]

Description[ | ]

Flesh Hounds are Khorne's foremost tool of vengeance. When a being – mortal or Daemon – rouses the Blood God's ire, he rises from the Skull Throne and sounds a single sonorous note on a great brass horn. This blast echoes through the mortal and Daemonic realms alike as a peal of portentous thunder, rousing Flesh Hounds from their slumber and loosing them upon the hunt. Few can survive gory pursuit by these relentless carnivores, for Flesh Hounds are faultless and instinctive trackers, able to harry their quarry across fen, forest and stone without once losing the scent.

Strategy[ | ]

Flesh Hounds are a versatile and cost-efficient unit that can be used effectively in many different situations. On a surface level, they can be seen as stronger warhounds, and be used in the same ways on the battlefield. They can be used for chasing down routed enemy units, attacking isolated archers and artillery, and distracting enemy cavalry. They can also be thought of as extremely fast shock cavalry, with a terrific charge bonus and very high weapon strength. Another important role that Flesh Hounds can fill is monster/cavalry hunting, as their high mass makes it easier for them to surround and bog down large enemy monsters and cavalry. Research through the tech tree grants them Bonus vs Large, making them even more effective in this role. In addition, their status as a Daemon means that they will never rout, another important attribute.

Their low melee defense means that they should not be left in long engagements. Do not squander the potential of Flesh Hounds, and be sure to only direct them towards favorable engagements unless desperate measures are called for.
