Formless Horror

The Formless Horror is a unique gameplay mechanic for The Changeling.

Overview

The Changeling has the ability to shapeshift into Legendary Lords and Heroes of all races in the game which grants him their stats, abilities, spells and of course their appearance. To change forms, simply select the portrait of the Lord or Hero in the character panel and click the Assume for Battle button and when on a battle activate the Formless Horror ability to change and if the player wishes to revert back to the Changeling's original form merely activate the Formless Horror (true form).

To unlock a new form for the Changeling to change, they need to be:

• Defeated in battle by the Changeling
• Forming an Alliance with their faction
• Completing certain Schemes

The Changeling can only change forms with the following type of units:

• Legendary Lords
• Legendary Heroes

Additional Notes

• The Changeling can only change into one form.
• Formless Horror is available in Multiplayer and Custom Battles, all forms are available and don't need to be unlocked.
• The Daemon Prince, Krell, and Sarthorael the Everwatcher are the only legendary characters not available for The Changeling to shapeshift.
• The Changeling cannot copy a character's mount and thus will always be on foot unless they are a mounted character (ex: Mother Ostankya, Grom the Paunch, Sisters of Twilight, etc.)

Trivia

• Images for the Formless Horror of Sarthorael the Everwatcher and The Daemon Prince exist in the game's files, but weren't actually implemented into the mechanic (yet).
• There's currently a bug in the game where Kairos doesn't show up in the Tzeentch section, and is only available in the "all races" tab.
