Total War: WARHAMMER Wiki

They're only there because you made them do it and would run or kill you in an instant, so it's important to direct Labourers' aggression squarely at the foe and keep it that way.

Goblin Labourers are a Chaos Dwarfs melee infantry unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer III with Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs.

Recruitment[]

Description[]

Even though their numbers have steadily increased down the long centuries, the Chaos Dwarfs are still few, and are far outnumbered by those over whom they claim dominion through might and cruelty – their Labourers. The Chaos Dwarfs consider all life other than their own kind to have value only as raw resource and fitting sacrifice, and to them the muscle, sinew and souls of those that bow and scrape and cringe before them are no more than a commodity to be amassed, exploited and spent. Without labour from without, Zharr-Naggrund would not have been built and its vast industries could not be maintained. Even now, the need for fresh-blood and workers only increases with each passing year. Goblins are the most common among the labour forces as well as the most obedient, due to their conniving nature.

Attributes[]

  • Spear Infantry
  • Expendable: This unit is comparably cheap to recruit, maintain and replenish.
  • Meat Shield: While unimpressive at causing damage, this unit is useful as a 'meat shield', absorbing damage that would otherwise hurt a more useful or precious target.
  • Weak Against Armour: This unit's attack can hardly punch through armour and is thus wasted on heavily armoured enemies.
  • Poor Leadership: This unit suffers from poor leadership and will easily rout. Keep its flanks secure and your Lord or other encouraging units nearby.

Passive Abilities[]

Strategy[]

Among the very worst infantry available anywhere, Goblin Laborers are significantly weaker than their Greenskins Goblin counterparts, and only make sense within the larger picture of the Chaos Dwarf economy. Completely lacking armor and any decently mollifying stats, their only hope is to act as a meat shield for a short interval. Their two saving graces are being extremely cheap, available from any Chaos Dwarf settlement and also being somewhat speedy, so they can be used to flank foes, albeit to very little effect.

Goblin Labourers are generally inferior to Orc Labourers. However, their small size allows them to be less prone to friendly fire. They should be replaced with Hobgoblin Cutthroats - or really anything, anything at all - as soon as possible.

Bugs[]

  • The Resilience attribute for this unit only mentions Barren Wasteland and Desert, even though they also don't suffer any attrition from Snow, Chaos Wastes, Chaos corruption, or mountain like other Chaos Dwarfs units.
