Gorbad Ironclaw is a Greenskins Legendary Lord unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer III with Omens of Destruction. In the campaign, he leads the
Ironclaw Orcs faction.
Description[ | ]
Gorbad Ironclaw is infamous even among other Orc Warbosses, rising to fame leading his tribe on countless successful Waaaghs! in his time. It was also he who first built Iron Rock, one of the most redoubtable Orc fortresses in the Old World. Conquering Greenskin tribes was never a real challenge for him either – it was his many, many horrific deeds in the Empire that saw him elevated to legendary status among his own kind, the name of Gorbad Ironclaw becoming an inspiration and a byword for "invasions done propa". Gorbad is immensely strong, even for an Orc. Despite his obvious brawn, he is known to win battles by using his head as well, fielding Goblins to effectively attack flanks or screen other troops' movements, and deploying massed archers, war machine batteries and other tactical advancements too. In short, Gorbad Ironclaw always drives whichever ragtag Greenskin host he is commanding, whether Orcs or Goblins they be, to do their utmost in the battle ahead.

In Death Pass, at the foothills of Black Crag, Gorbad plans his next mighty Waaagh! to unleash upon the world in a wave of carnage and destruction.

Gonebad Ironclaw: Gorbad's gone, but not forgotten. He's earned a place beside the mighty Gork and Mork in the Shaman's tales around the campfire.

Gorbad is pretty much a beefed-up Orc Warboss that is limited to his unique variant of Warboar. Notably, his Waaagh! lasts several seconds longer than other Lord's Waaagh!
In combat, Morglor the Mangler's active ability can be used to shred other lords fairly quickly, putting out damage fast. Without it, Gorbad is fairly unremarkable in combat as his primary purpose is to buff your army.
Other than that, his defeat trait is probably one of the worse ones in the games.
