Gorgers are an Ogre Kingdoms monstrous infantry introduced in Total War: Warhammer III with Ogre Kingdoms (DLC).
Recruitment[]
Unlocked with: Gorger Cave, Gorger Cave (Ogre Camp) or Exotic Pet Store
Summon[]
Description[]
Even more ravenous than an Ogre, Gorgers are degenerate eating machines consisting of nothing but taut muscle, claws and ferocity. The beasts are so hungry that they will gobble up anything they can scrounge, even the most tainted of things. To aid a Gorger in its all-consuming quest to feed, he can distend his jaws in the same way as many serpents do in order to swallow larger prey. If that weren't enough, their mouths are crammed full of teeth that grow rapidly through their slimy gums, replacing themselves daily, or sometimes even more quickly.
Attributes[]
Monstrous Infantry
- ▲ Armour-Piercing: The damage of
armour-piercing weapons mostly ignores the armour of the target, making them the ideal choice against heavily-armoured enemies. They are often heavier and attack at a slower rate though, making them less efficient against poorly-armoured targets.
- ▲ Anti-Infantry: Anti-infantry units have an advantage against targets that are smaller than a horse. This advantage can be a damage bonus against small targets, superior weight used to smash through lighter enemies, or an explosive attack from range that effects a large area.
- ▲ Vanguard Deployment: This unit can deploy in an expanded deployment area, allowing it to start the battle within striking distance of the enemy - or somewhere unexpected.
- ▲ Stalk: This unit can move hidden in any terrain.
Unit Abilities[]
Passive Abilities[]
Strategy[]
An extremely useful unit for the Ogres, particularly to Skrag the Slaughterer who gets strategic buffs for them. With the Unbreakable, Stalk and Vanguard traits, Gorgers can descend quickly upon an enemy's artillery and ranged units, who otherwise are capable of causing Ogres a lot of problems, and wreak absolute havoc. They can also be tasked with leading a charge in much the same way you'd use any monstrous infantry, but their lack of armor makes them less suitable for this role.
