Greasus Goldtooth is an Ogre Kingdoms Legendary Lord unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer III with Ogre Kingdoms (DLC). In the campaign, he leads
Goldtooth faction.
Description[]
Tradelord Greasus Tribestealer Drakecrush Gatecrasher Hoardmaster Goldtooth the Shockingly Obese was one of many whelps sired by the infamous Gofg, Tyrant of the Goldtooth tribe. Like his brothers, Greasus grew up to become strong and fat. Unlike his brothers, he killed and ate his own father. As word spread of such prodigious deeds, many Tyrants decided to join the ruthless new leader of the Goldtooth tribe and soon, once again, the Ogre Kingdoms had an Overtyrant. These days, grown older, larger, louder and richer than ever, Goldtooth's coffers fill faster than his Gnoblars can count. Yet Greasus' rampant success has not diminished his greed, or his all-consuming desire to conquer everything he sees.
Campaign Description[]
The Realm of Chaos[]
"The Ogre Kingdoms sprawl across the Mountains of Mourn. They have taken the peaks from the now-extinct Sky-titans. This mountainous realm is a place of rocks, bones, and great beasts to be eaten or tamed.
Perhaps 'kingdoms' is a misnomer - for there is no king, but an Overtyrant who rules with an iron fist and demands tribute from other tribes in the form of meat and gold. He is Greasus Goldtooth.
I travel far, for the Mountains of Mourn are beyond the Darklands, in the east. This gives me time to ruminate on how to approach them, and convince the Overtyrant to invade the Chaos Realms. Avarice is the key, for there is no one greedier than Greasus!"
Immortal Empires[]
Greasus the Shockingly Obese has been sleeping off his recent feasting in his Great Hall in the Mountains of Mourn, and now sets out to dominate the other Ogres of the region.
Attributes[]
Lord
- ā² Armour-Piercing: The damage of
armour-piercing weapons mostly ignores the armour of the target, making them the ideal choice against heavily-armoured enemies. They are often heavier and attack at a slower rate though, making them less efficient against poorly-armoured targets.
- ā² Anti-Large: Anti-Large: Anti-large units have an advantage against targets that are at least as large as a horse. This advantage can be a
damage bonus against large targets or an attack that focuses on a very small area. However, some units are simply better against large targets because their attacks are slow and easy to dodge by skilled melee combatants.
- ā² Melee Expert: Melee Experts might have a very strong melee attack or melee defence, or high values in both. Some also have melee-focused skills like Charge Defence. Use them to counter other strong melee units. When facing them, it is best to take them out before they can enter melee.
- ā² Ogre Charge: When attacking braced charge defenders, this unit only loses half of its charge bonus.

Talent Tree[]
Strategy[]
Greasus is an okay large duelist but suffers from lower Melee Defence, small splash, and slow speed along with, unsurprisingly, being large (which makes him extremely vulnerable against anti-large infantry units especially if left in a blob of them or focused range attacks) that prevents him being used like an Ogre Tyrant. Provides good debuffs and buffs to nearby units. Ideally you want to keep him with your Gnobblar distraction units while your Ogres flank the enemy.
He's kinda bad against infantry but thanks to the mass and the collission attacks, he'll be able to deal some damage if he keeps charging.

Trivia[]
- Greasus was mentioned in Total War: Warhammer II in the treasure hunt Island Song.
- In lore Greasus is carried by a mob of Gnoblars. According to Andy Hall, this would have taken up much memory space and animator time to create, so it was replaced by the Gnoblar pushed kart.[1]
- Greasus, in Patch 4.1.0, had up to 400 Speed due to possibly a misinput by a developer, making him the fastest unit ever in the entirity of Total War at one point.[2] This was fixed in Hotfix 4.1.1.
