Though any wealthy soul can hire these elite horsemen, all the coin in the Motherland could not make them turn upon their queen.

Gryphon Legion are a Kislev Kislev melee cavalry unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer III.

Recruitment[ | ]

Description[ | ]

The Gryphon Legion are a standing force of highly-experienced Winged Lancers, notable for their improved wargear, as well as their prodigious skill at arms. The first loyalty of these warriors is to the throne of Kislev – they place their duty to the queen above all other obligations. They often serve as a mercenary army for allied powers, at times when Kislev is not currently fighting a war. This gives them a wealth of experience fighting different foes, and ensures that their warriors can never grow lax or allow their skills to dull from lack of use.

Strategy[ | ]

A Kislevite version of Reiksguard Knights, the Legion is best used in much the same way. Use them for fast reinforcement of a decaying line, or use them to strike at weak points in the enemy army.

Have the Legion move behind enemy lines and circle around to strike at vulnerable rear units (such as archers or artillery) or wheel them around and strike the rear of front line units engaged with your troops.

They may also be sent to hunt down and destroy fleeing units.

Remember to cycle charge the Legion; after they have charged into melee combat, wait ten seconds before withdrawing them a fair distance, then circle around and charge again.
