Total War: WARHAMMER Wiki

The sneakiest of the sneaky, you might say. The finest assassins and ambushers of the Chaos Dwarf military.

Hobgoblin Sneaky Gits are a Chaos Dwarfs melee infantry unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer III with Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs.

Recruitment[]

Description[]

The Hobgoblins are a distinctive sub-species of steppe-dwelling Goblins found only within the lands of the Far East, in the rolling, untamed plains of the Eastern Steppes. The Hobgoblin race are considered traitors by all of their Greenskin cousins, not because of their unbelievably treacherous nature, but by their specific betrayal of the Greenskin Uprising of Zharr-Naggrund. This betrayal of their entire race and their inability to even trust each other has ensured that the Hobgoblins have become utterly enthralled to the brutal protection and patronage of the Chaos Dwarfs. Though hated by their kin, the Hobgoblins are nonetheless the scourge of the steppes; feared, hated and powerful in almost equal measure, and also widely abhorred for their cruelty, wickedness and appalling standards of hygiene.

Attributes[]

  • Sneaky Infantry
  • Precursor Missile Weapon: If Fire-At-Will is disabled, a unit with a Precursor Missile Weapon will only fire at a target that they have been ordered to charge . If Fire-At-Will is enabled, the unit will fire at the closest enemy. A Precursor Missile Weapon typically has low range and a small amount of ammunition .
  • Anti-Infantry: Anti-infantry units have an advantage against targets that are smaller than a horse. This advantage can be a damage bonus against small targets, superior weight used to smash through lighter enemies, or an explosive attack from range that effects a large area.
  • Vanguard Deployment: This unit can deploy in an expanded deployment area, allowing it to start the battle within striking distance of the enemy - or somewhere unexpected.
  • Stalk: This unit can move hidden in any terrain.

Passive Abilities[]

Strategy[]

The Sneaky Gits are ambush units similar to Nasty Skulkers or Death Runners. They can deal rapid damage to low-mid tier infantry and have modest armor piercing, but have very little defense themselves. Use them to stalk around the flanks of the enemy army and pick off artillery, archers, or isolated units, then rear charge the main line. They can also be used in sieges to sneak to objectives or defend walls since ther damage can keep up with units climbing ladders.

Their upkeep is double most other chaff units for the Chaos Dwarves and they have little holding power, so only bring them if you are going to make use of some ninja special ops. They are most effective in a stack with Gorduz Backstabba in the endgame, but their easy Tier 1 access makes them handy in the early game.
