Horse Archers are a Kislev missile cavalry unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer III.
Recruitment[]
Unlocked with: Oblast Moot
Description[]
Horse Archers are often the only elements of a Kislevite army the foe encounters. They patrol the oblast constantly, ensuring roads are clear of bandits and roving enemies, and watching constantly for incursions from the north and east. Bands of Horse Archers are welcome wherever they go, for all know that they will fight ceaselessly to protect any Kislevite settlement from invaders. That said, being a Horse Archer is not necessarily a lofty calling – respected but not greatly envied, except by those who long for the freedom of the open plains and cold nights beneath starry skies.
Attributes[]
Missile Cavalry
- ▲ Decent Melee Combatant: Despite being primarily a missile unit or spellcaster, this unit can also hold its own ground when fighting in melee.
- ▲ Very Fast: This unit can run circles around most other units, taunting and harrassing the enemy or evading its missile fire.
- ▲ Vanguard Deployment: This unit can deploy in an expanded deployment area, allowing it to start the battle within striking distance of the enemy - or somewhere unexpected.
- ▲ Fire Whilst Moving: This unit can fire while on the move.

Passive Abilities[]
Strategy[]
Comparable to Ellyrian Reaver Archers, this unit is a cheap and excellent skirmisher which with some micro can do a lot of work for you in the early game, taking out lightly armoured troops and missile units. The 'decent melee combatant' stat is misleading - they will get shredded by most well-armoured troops and should be kept moving and firing as much as possible. As a whole Kislev is a somewhat cumbersome faction, so having a highly mobile unit like this working the flanks is welcome.
