K'daai Destroyer is a Chaos Dwarfs monster unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer III with Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs.

Far larger than the K'daai Fireborn fashioned as shock troops by the Chaos Dwarfs, K'daai Destroyers are massive constructs created in the form of mighty warriors or iron beasts, such as gargantuan monstrous bulls and other nightmarish creatures, awakened by mass blood sacrifice and let loose upon the enemy. The High Priests of Hashut have succeeded almost too well in the creation of the K'daai Destroyers, for they are near-mindless, elemental forces of destruction, and need to be laid to rest as cold and silent metal until they are in battle, where they burn bright and terrible, but briefly.

  • Colossal Monster
  • Bound Fire Daemon: Bound Fire Daemons cannot be routed, but they take damage when their Leadership is broken.
    • Bound Fire Daemons also have:
      • Physical Resistance
      • Fire Resistance
      • Fear and Terror Immunity
    • Bound Fire Daemons are also Unbreakable whilst most of their hit points are remaining.
  • Hell-Forged: This unit can be restored in battle by the Daemonsmith's Reforge ability.
  • Anti-Infantry: Anti-infantry units have an advantage against targets that are smaller than a horse. This advantage can be a damage bonus against small targets, superior weight used to smash through lighter enemies, or an explosive attack from range that effects a large area.
  • Flaming Attacks: This unit inflicts flaming attacks. Units hit by flaming attack heal at half the usual rate whilst 'on fire' and sustain additional damage if vulnurable to fire.

Strategy[]

The premiere large monster of the Chaos dwarf roster, the K’daai destroyer is a flaming terror on the battlefield. Sporting a high health pool and armor, as well as an aggressive stat spread, the K’daai destroyer is adept in causing mayhem among the infantry lines. Notably, this unit has abilities that encourage it to stay in the thick of combat and not to lose too much health. Burning body gives this unit increasing damage reflection and physical resistance the longer it stays in combat while hellish frenzy increases its damage stats as long as it remains above 75% hp. This unit should be paired with Daemonsmith sorcerers who can help keep it healthy while it stays in the thick of battle with Reforge.

As with virtually all single entity large monsters, this unit is vulnerable to high volumes of armor piercing missiles and should be kept away from elite anti-large units that can cause too much damage to this unit.

On the campaign map they can be upgraded to gain barrier and other useful effects and they are especially useful to the Legion of Azgorh who reduces their upkeep and cost to increase the cap as well as Drazhoath increasing their stats.
