Countless slaves of Chaos have fallen to this ancient cannon's roaring fusillades. To fight alongside it stokes pride in any Kislevite heart.

Little Grom are a Kislev artillery unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer III.

Recruitment[]

Description[]

Kislev is not known for massed artillery. In fact, at many points throughout its history, the Boyars and Druzhina have been expressly forbidden from maintaining their own. In the reign of Tzar Alexis a dozen new cannons were commissioned, under the orders that “their roar would drown out the hordes of Chaos like the thunder of gods”. The Thunderers, as they were known, made a great difference in the battles that eventually saw the legions of Chaos thrown back into the northern wastes. By the time the fighting was over, most of the twelve Thunderers were lost... but a precious few remain.

Attributes[]

  • Siege Artillery
  • Armoured: Armoured units can block damage from any source apart from Armour-Piercing damage.
  • Armour-Piercing: The damage of armour-piercing weapons mostly ignores the armour of the target, making them the ideal choice against heavily-armoured enemies. They are often heavier and attack at a slower rate though, making them less efficient against poorly-armoured targets.
  • Collision Attacks: This unit deals additional attacks when colliding with enemies when charging.

Strategy[]

Highly effective arcing artillery with no real downsides, Little Grom distinguishes itself by having both good range and a surprising amount of accuracy on it. It can be used on blobs of infantry and land-bound single entities to equally good effect. You may notice it's pulled by bears, which means it's not bad in melee either. Given the usual nature of Kislev engagements, throwing it into your melee line after it's used up its ammo can be a good tactic, particularly as it causes fear. It may just be the thing that makes your enemy decide to call it a day.
