Maelstrom is a

Dark Elves mount introduced in Total War: Warhammer II with the Aye-Aye! Patch unique to Lokhir Fellheart. It is a variant of the Black Dragon.

Description[]

This terrifying Black Dragon, Lokhir's favourite mount, belches noxious fumes instead of flame as it carries the Krakenlord to battle.

Removes:

▲ Sea Dragon Cloak: The scaled leather of the flightless Sea Dragon provides a very light yet incredibly sturdy material for armour.
▲ Anti-Infantry: Anti-infantry units have an advantage against targets that are smaller than a horse. This advantage can be a damage bonus against small targets, superior weight used to smash through lighter enemies, or an explosive attack from range that effects a large area.
▲ Duellist: This unit is best used to attack individual targets such as Lords or Heroes. As it can only damage very few individuals at a time, it is not suitable against hordes of weak enemies.

Adds:

▲ Armoured: Armoured units can block damage from any source apart from Armour-Piercing damage.
▲ Armour-Piercing: The damage of armour-piercing weapons mostly ignores the armour of the target, making them the ideal choice against heavily-armoured enemies. They are often heavier and attack at a slower rate though, making them less efficient against poorly-armoured targets.
▲ Causes Terror: This unit can cause terror, making its melee target rout for a short time. Units that cause terror are immune to terror and fear themselves.
▲ Scaly Skin: Scaly skin or hides help to dampen or deflect the damage caused by missile weapons, increasing this unit's Missile Resistance.
