Magical attacks Magical attacks are one of three damage channel attacks and which cause damage to ignore Icon stat armour armour and Resistance physical physical resistances.

You can check whether a damage channel has magical attacks enabled or not by locating a Modifier icon magical icon next to the Icon stat attack melee attack stat for melee damage or next to the Ammo character ammunition stat for missile damage. As magical attacks are not considered a contact effect, it can stack with one contact effect, such as Modifier icon poison Poison!. However, it can be replaced by a different attack, such as Modifier icon flamingflaming attacks.

This type of damage can only be reduced with Resistance magic magic resistance or Resistance ward save ward save. As a result, magical attacks can be particularly devastating against heavily armoured units, such as Hammerers, and those with high physical resistance, such as ethereal units.

Magical attacks can be innate to an unit, usually elite, or enabled with mostly rarer ancillaries, such as items and banners, and abilities. A few notable examples are given below - not a comprehensive list!
