Markus Wulfhart is an Empire Legendary Lord unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer II with The Hunter and the Beast DLC. In the campaign, he leads
The Huntsmarshal's Expedition.
Description[]
Markus Wulfhart, known as Huntsmarshal, is the most successful monster hunter and slayer in the Old World. Originally from the village of Drakenburg, situated within the deep dark forest of the Middenland province, Markus has risen to be the Emperor’s Captain of Scouts as well as the leader of his own band of monster hunters. Wulfhart's Hunters (Hertwig van Hal, Jorek Grimm, Kalara, Rodrick), as they call themselves, are an elite, rag-tag group of trappers, hunters, archers and scouts from all across the Empire. Nowhere else in Imperial armies can a more diverse group of warriors be found together, hailing from locations as far flung as Wissenland, Middenland, Nuln, Altdorf, Averland and Stirland.
Attributes[]
Hybrid-Weapon Infantry
- ▲ Armour-Piercing Missiles: The damage of
armour-piercing weapons mostly ignores the armour of the target, making them the ideal choice against heavily-armoured enemies. They are often heavier and attack at a slower rate though, making them less efficient against poorly-armoured targets.
- ▲ Anti-Large: Anti-Large: Anti-large units have an advantage against targets that are at least as large as a horse. This advantage can be a
damage bonus against large targets or an attack that focuses on a very small area. However, some units are simply better against large targets because their attacks are slow and easy to dodge by skilled melee combatants.
- ▲ Stalk: This unit can move hidden in any terrain.
- ▲ Fire Whilst Moving: This unit can fire while on the move.

Talent Tree[]
Strategy[]
In battle, Wulfhart is a powerful archer but is not suited for melee combat.
Markus is a deadly sniping character, however he needs time and space to work down his targets. This makes him vulnerable to harass units or being dove upon by enemy lords. He is a decent combatant, but can only hope to trade evenly in melee rather than win a duel. Keep some elements nearby to keep enemies away or use other units to distract from Markus, who can go unnoticed if your opponent is not wary of him. He provides many buffs to Huntsmen and archer units encouraging the player to use them extensively to combat the monsters of the jungle.

Trivia[]
- Markus Wulfhart is brother to Jacob Wulfhart who was the captain of the ship with the Star-metal Harpoon that the Vampire Coast seeks out. Wulfhart will reference this in a voiceline when travelling over water, something along the lines of "Sailing was always my brother, Jacob's, domain"
