For the Dwarfs unit, see Master Engineer (Dwarfs).
Give a great Engineer a workshop, he’ll win you the battle. Give him command of an army, and he could win you the war.

The Master Engineer is an Empire Lord unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer III with Thrones of Decay.

Recruitment[]

Description[]

The individuals skilled and eccentric enough to earn the position of Imperial Engineer are obsessed with designing new machines and technological marvels, eager to watch their contraptions tear through the enemies of the Empire. However it is not just their positions as inventors and suppliers of deadly weapons that make Engineers valuable on the battlefield. While not soldiers, they are still part of the Emperor's armed forces, and can often be found taking advantage of 'battlefield conditions' to snipe at the enemy with a variety of powerful experimental rifles and handguns.

Attributes[]

  • Support Specialist
  • Ballistics Expert: This unit improves all nearby friendly missile units.
  • Damage Dealer: This unit has a strong emphasis on dealing damage. If fighting it, make sure to take it out before it can get into firing or melee range.

Despite being a Support-ish Lord, this generic Lord is decent in melee enough to fight off low-tier melee units in melee, but it's better to keep them behind the lines and use the ranged option. This Lord specializes in buffing missile units in your army and the war machines, turning already-deadly units such as Land Ships or Nuln Ironsides deadlier.

Despite technically an "upgrade", Mechanical Steed has slower speed than Warhorse while having more HP, armor and charge bonus. It's up to your army composition to use either of them. Steam Tank is pretty much a "no brainer, must have" option compared to the Warhorse and Mechanical Steed. Unlike the normal Steam Tank, the Master Engineer will sit ontop of it, firing down the enemies, allowing the Lord to deal more damage. Even without ammo, the Master Engineer will still fire his weapon. Use this Lord as how you use the Steam Tank once you reach the respective levels but keep him near your ranged units for the buffs.
