A notorious and ancient Keeper of Secrets, N'Kari has broken empires and countless minds in his ceaseless quest for new depraved sensations.

N'Kari is a Slaanesh Legendary Lord unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer III. In the campaign, he leads the Seducers of Slaanesh.

Description[]

N’Kari is a ruiner of purity, a despoiler of the faithful and a harbinger of damnation. To him, fear and lust are the most succulent of dishes, but any mortal rapture provides sustenance – particularly if the victim can be propelled from the heights of one to the depths of another. Nothing is more delectable to N’Kari than the act of snatching a prideful popinjay from the adulation of his followers, drowning him in stark terror, then returning him, broken-minded and wallowing in his own involuntary filth, to the mockery of the comrades who once roared his praises.

Campaign Description[]

The Realm of Chaos[]

"The Chaos God of desire, Slaanesh, is the youngest of the Dark Powers, but has the potential to eclipse them all. He is the Dark Prince and Lord of Excess. His servants embody those traits to perfection, and none more so than N'Kari, the Arch-tempter.

His search for the exquisite saw him stranded on the wrong side of the maelstrom. Not that the Keeper of Secrets would be concerned, for a being such as N'Kari will always find... distractions.

Nevertheless, I can perhaps offer a greater prize to tempt the Arch-tempter.

I make my way through perfumed fog – ignoring the tormented screams – to his palace. The negotiations will be challenging."

Immortal Empires[]

Long ago defeated by the High Elves of Ulthuan, N’Kari has returned to the Shrine of Kurnous, seeking his vengeance in Elven souls.

Attributes[]

  • Wizard
  • Spellcaster: This unit can cast spells.
  • Armour-Piercing: The damage of armour-piercing weapons mostly ignores the armour of the target, making them the ideal choice against heavily-armoured enemies. They are often heavier and attack at a slower rate though, making them less efficient against poorly-armoured targets.
  • Causes Terror: This unit can cause terror, making its melee target rout for a short time. Units that cause terror are immune to terror and fear themselves.

Strategy[]

N'kari serves as an incredibly fast and deadly duelist like lord as he has speed of over 100, allowing him to easily catch down any units he so chooses. N'kari also gains health whenever a nearby enemy unit gets destroyed completely. This allows N'kari to be versatile in terms of use. Because of that, N'Kari should also hunting down fleeing units, especially after the battle ends to regain a considerable amount of health.

As mentioned, N'Kari is incredibly fast for a ground unit and with an incredible amount of 520 weapon strength, with armor piercing of course. The big downside to this amazing attack power is the complete lack of armor. N'Kari does have some really good melee stats, with 70 melee attack and 60 melee defence, he's able to fight many different oponents without too much trouble along with his really large splash attack but only having 5 armor really shows if he gets trapped by any anti-large units like halberds and can get shredded in a matter of seconds by any anti-large artillery unit like dwarf cannons if he gets focused down and is not able to get out of combat quick enough. With his lightning speed you can try and dodge some proyectiles, but always try to pay attention to enemy projectiles in order to keep N'Kari alive, because given that he´s a daemon, if he takes lots of damage very quickly and the leadership goes down, he will start taking damage because of the banishment effect that all daemons share.

This weakness can be easily countered with the powerful spells of the lore of Slaanesh, or just simply using your hellstriders, hellflayers and fiends of Slaanesh to disrupt enemy proyectiles to keep N'Kari safe. From the spells side, you have a variety of options from the lore of Slaanesh, three damaging spells, two debuffs and a single unit offensive buff to make your exalted daemonettes tear through anything in their path. With a very hard hitting bombardment spell and a breath spell, you have versatility on what enemies you want to target, using the bombardment to clear out big chunks of the enemy frontline or disrupt well organized lines of ranged units with the breath attack.

N'Kari is the embodiment of a glass cannon in the game, extremely hard hitting and very high speed, but with no armor at all. N'Kari is not someone like Skarbrand, who you can charge into the middle of your opponents armies, and watch him destroy everything is his path, you need to be more strategic and careful to take advantage of his full potential, but once you have time playing him, it can be one of the scariest enemies in the entire game. Just remember not to rush him towards cannons.

As to fight against N'Kari AI, it's probably not that hard since the AI has a tendency of charging into the frontline recklessly. N'Kari is also very large, which makes him very vulnerable to ranged units and the AI isn't really that good at dodging incoming arrows.

Trivia[]

  • N'Kari is voiced by Emma Tate.
  • Along with Ku'gath Plaguefather, N'kari does not have an official tabletop model, unlike Skarbrand and Kairos Fateweaver. His game-model appears to be an amalgamation of his appearances in the 7th Edition Daemons Armybook for Warhammer Fantasy
  • When moved onto the Tundra clime and selected, N'kari will say "Let It Go", likely a reference to Disney's Frozen.
