Description[ | ]
The rotting bowels of the Great Unclean Ones swell with pus and contagion, and within each swelling there grows a tiny and malevolent Daemon called a Nurgling. Physically, they are miniature versions of Nurgle himself, with friendly mischievous faces, tiny, bloated green bodies, and limbs that are often distorted or disproportionate. When faced with an enemy they advance in a furious swarm, clawing and gnawing at the foe's legs, biting his ankles and licking at any interesting sores or abrasions they discover.

Passive Abilities[ | ]
Strategy[ | ]
Don't let their base stats or their position at the bottom of the roster fool you - Nurglings are cheap, surprisingly hardy once Poison and Cloud of Flies are applied, fast (for a Nurgle unit), and easily spammable from Nurgle's otherwise limited recruitment pool. This is especially true in Ku'gath's army, whose unique lord abilities buff their Melee Defense, reduce their upkeep further, and even grant them Regeneration while providing healing with his unique passive ability towards Nurglings only.
This makes them an extremely economical and flexible tarpit infantry unit - Plaguebearers might do the job better once they are in position, but Nurglings can deploy in key positions using Vanguard, move around the map quicker, and as they are far cheaper and more replaceable powerful Lore of Nurgle spells can be dropped on or near them at no fear of losing expensive units - thus keeping the healing passive up more often and making them even more survivable.
However, Nurglings cannot place ladders on walls in hostile sieges, nor can they man siege equiment like battering rams or siege towers. This severely limits their flexibility in siege environments, relying on a wall or gate breach before they can overrun the defenders.
With their high speed, Nurglings can be used to harass missile troops to prevent them from firing, attack artillary to prevent damage to your main war host, or be used to flank enemy troops to make the fight go smoother.
