No Ogre truly needs weapons to pulverise his foes, for his immense fists suffice. But all Ogres crave trophies...

Description[ | ]

Ogres excel at fighting and this, along with their greed and lack of concern about right or wrong, means that an Ogre army is always ready for a battle against anyone, anywhere. History is replete with examples of Ogres being paid to fight (and even sometimes being paid not to join a fray). When they do enter combat, Ogres make frightening opponents, for they are savage and can sometimes devour the fallen where they lie. In the heat of battle, this horrifies their opponents, who must fight the blood-splattered vanquisher of their former comrades.

  • Wh3 ogr monstrous dual weapons Monstrous Infantry
  • Anti-Infantry: Anti-infantry units have an advantage against targets that are smaller than a horse. This advantage can be a damage bonus against small targets, superior weight used to smash through lighter enemies, or an explosive attack from range that effects a large area.
  • Damage Dealer: This unit has a strong emphasis on dealing damage. If fighting it, make sure to take it out before it can get into firing or melee range.
  • Ogre Charge: When attacking braced charge defenders, this unit only loses half of its charge bonus.
  • Weak Against Armour: This unit's attack can hardly punch through armour and is thus wasted on heavily armoured enemies.

The counterpoint to the Ironfists, these guys have no protection against ranged attack but can dish out an impressive amount of damage against most infantry in the early game, breaking the will of units with low to moderate leadership very quickly - if they can reach them without being shredded. Bear in mind that the AI is biased towards shooting at the enemy that approaches them first; holding Dual Weapons back behind Ironfists or Gnoblars will increase their survivability.
