Total War: WARHAMMER Wiki

Their spiked metal gauntlets can shred foes to ribbons – which means less chewing later.

Ogre Bulls (Ironfists) are an Ogre Kingdoms monstrous infantry introduced in Total War: Warhammer III with Ogre Kingdoms (DLC).

Recruitment[]

Description[]

Given the chance, an Ogre will barge into combat, using his great lumbering mass as a weapon. When working together, Ogres can harness the tremendous momentum of their formation to deliver an overpowering impact on anything they collide with. It is a living avalanche, an immense tonnage of muscle and fat behind heavy iron gut-plates that slams the enemy before the individual Ogres themselves begin to lay about with their brutal weaponry. They often cover their off-hand with a spiked metal gauntlet, a habit which originated from the traditional sport of pit-fighting. This gauntlet can be used to bat aside even the strongest attacks.

Attributes[]

  • Monstrous Infantry
  • Ironfist: The ironfist is used by the Ogres to parry blows and block missiles.
  • Damage Dealer: This unit has a strong emphasis on dealing damage. If fighting it, make sure to take it out before it can get into firing or melee range.
  • Ogre Charge: When attacking braced charge defenders, this unit only loses half of its charge bonus.
  • Weak Against Armour: This unit's attack can hardly punch through armour and is thus wasted on heavily armoured enemies.

Strategy[]

The very rare Ogre unit to have a shield, Ironfists are extremely handy in the early game, particularly if you lack the patience to use Gnoblars as cannon fodder. Putting a vanguard of them out ahead of your charge will hopefully cause them to absorb missile fire that would otherwise find your unprotected units and lessen the damage you take considerably.

In melee they're slightly tankier than regular Bulls and will do as much damage, just try and avoid pitting them against heavily armoured units.
