The Realm of Chaos[]

The early game against the Grand Cathayan factions to the east will be difficult, where a lack of armor-piercing attacks and spells against the armored Jade Warrior armies halts your push past The Great Bastion. This also means going to war against any Warriors of Chaos factions should be avoided. The Poxmakers of Nurgle is your rival from the southwest, along with Goldtooth from the south.

Confederate Sarthorael's Watchers before they are eliminated to get Sarthorael the Everwatcher, a unique Exalted Lord of Change Lord early in the campaign to lead a second army.

Immortal Empires[]

One of the most challenging campaigns in Total War: WARHAMMER lll. You start at the Southern Chaos Wastes, which extends from west to east as a long thin stretch of land surrounded by enemies with little-to-no allies. Both the nearby minor Tzeentch factions (the Flaming Scribes and Sarthorael's Watchers) will be quickly eliminated by the Ghosts of Pahuax (it will take 10-20 turns for the Ghosts of Pahuax to defeat the Flaming Scribes) from the west and the Order of Loremasters from the North, respectively. If you wish to save Sarthorael the Everwatcher for confederation, you must transfer the first minor settlement you conquered in the initial province to act as a life raft when his faction is obliterated in 3-4 turns.

The first deadly puzzle: Trampled by Beasts or Knife in the Back.

After defeating the initial Bubonic Swarm enemy, your army will end up next to Rapturous Excess's capital settlement in the east. If you march back to face the Ghosts of Pahuax's or Order of the Loremasters's inevitable onslaught, the Rapturous Excess will take advantage to declare war and invade while you wait. Push on and defeat Rapturous Excess, you will be even further when Ghosts of Pahuax declare war and attack your capital.

You can counteract this by creating a chaos cult with your Cultist of Tzeench early on in the Flaming Scribes Capital and use it to teleport back when the time is right. Maybe even support and save the Flaming Scribes in battle. You can also fortify the settlement that is Westernmost with garrison building and possibly, a small army to ward off the attack of the Lizardmen while you're dealing with Rapturuous Excess and/or Order of the Loremasters.

Trivia[]

  • Before Patch 2.2., the Oracles of Tzeentch started at the Fortress of Dawn, Dawn's Landing, in the Immortal Empires campaign.
