Pestigors are a
Beastmen melee infantry unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer III with Thrones of Decay.
Recruitment[]
Unlocked with: Pit-Hovel
Description[]
From the consumption of Plague victims to bathing in filth, nothing is beyond the unwholesome Pestigors of Nurgle. To face such creatures is a true assault on the senses, as well as one’s life – their dung-covered bodies are sparsely covered in fur that is matted and coarse, and riddled with myriad diseases of which they themselves are spared the symptoms due to their loyalty to Nurgle. Thus they retain the morbid vigour that characterises their master, their afflictions doing nothing to mar their battle-worthiness and savagery with a battle axe. The most favoured Pestigors are marked by their Tears of Nurgle: noxious secretions that ooze from their eyes, noses, ears and mouths, that they sputter upon their fleeing victims.
Attributes[]
Great Axe Infantry- ▲ Armour-Piercing Melee: The damage of armour-piercing weapons mostly ignores the armour of the target, making them the ideal choice against heavily-armoured enemies. They are often heavier and attack at a slower rate though, making them less efficient against poorly-armoured targets.
- ▲ Vanguard Deployment: This unit can deploy in an expanded deployment area, allowing it to start the battle within striking distance of the enemy - or somewhere unexpected.
- ▲ Scaly Skin: Scaly skin or hides help to dampen or deflect the damage caused by missile weapons, increasing this unit's Missile Resistance.
- ▲ Poison Attacks: The
poisonous attacks of this unit weaken the target's speed and damage and/or apply the Poison! debuff.
Unit Abilities[]
Passive Abilities[]
Strategy[]
Pestigors are somewhat specialized as medium armor piercing infantry, and suffer from their own unit capacity group as opposed to the lesser Gors. Still, they bring vanguard and poison attacks which gives extra options for vanguard armies and a bit of debuff support.
