Description[ | ]

The rank and file of Nurgle's legions, crafted from the soul-stuff of mortals who have been slain by Nurgle's Rot. What little of the Plaguebearer's skin that can be seen beneath the discharge of innumerable sores is tinged with suppurant greens and vile browns. Pus weeps continuously from its single bloodshot eye and from the Daemon's forehead protrudes a single horn – the mark of Nurgle's Rot. Units of Plaguebearers are surrounded by a constant drone, created by the attendant hosts of plump black flies, and by the endless counting as the Daemons attempt to calculate their master's ever-changing requirements.

Strategy[ | ]

Plaguebearers will often form the bulk of nurgle armies, and deservedly so. They are a very powerful backbone infantry, packing strong cloud of flies melee defense and a huge health pool, plus all the universal demon traits like physical resist and magical attacks. They are incredibly hard to kill and can put out useful amounts of damage. Gum up your opponent's charges and shooting with nurglings and rot flies respectively, and watch the tallymen do their work.

Be warned that they are far from perfect. exalted daemons or other elite units with magical damage can chew through them very well, and they will take an annoyingly long time to put damage on heavily armored units. When facing enemies with access to armor, pair them up with great weapon marauders or warriors for a hard to deal with melee blob. Also make sure to have a plan in case your enemies decide to walk away at a moderate pace, because these guys won't be catching up to them without help.
