Skeleton Warriors is a Tomb Kings melee infantry unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer II with the Rise of the Tomb Kings DLC. The Undead devotees of the Tomb Kings are risen again, unswervingly loyal to their liege.

The Skeleton Warriors of Nehekhara are ancient and eternally loyal troops whom have willingly followed their mighty rulers unto death, forming the very core of all of the Tomb Kings' untold armies. Rising up from the dusty dunes, rank upon rank of these Skeleton Warriors stand ready to kill once more in the name of their immortal monarchs. Holding curved swords and long spears, ancient forms awake from their deathly slumbers, forming up in vast regiments with a supernatural discipline that few living warriors can hope to match. The mighty armies of Nehekhara, made up of regiment after regiment of valiant soldiers, swore oaths of eternal loyalty before the gods to serve their monarch in life and beyond into death.

  • Meat Shield: While unimpressive at causing damage, this unit is useful as a 'meat shield', absorbing damage that would otherwise hurt a more useful or precious target.
  • Shielded: Shields have a chance of blocking arrows, bolts, rifle shots and similar small arms fire - but only in a forward facing arc.

The tool tip says meat shield, which is ironic given their... meatless state, however it is accurate. They are a cheap unit that will wear enemies down and keep them from fighting more valuable units. These warriors do get a buff from the Realm of Souls healing, keeping them in the fight a little longer. Do not expect anything amazing from them, they will lose against almost all infantry in the game aside from Peasant Mobs or Skavenslaves. They have slightly better melee attack and damage when compared to Skeleton Spearmen, but they should not be used for damage output except when no other option is available.
