“ | Unbreakable, brutal beyond measure and barely sane, Skrag heeds only the voice of the Great Maw. | „ |
Skrag the Slaughterer is an Ogre Kingdoms Legendary Lord unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer III with Ogre Kingdoms (DLC). In the campaign, he leads the
Disciples of the Maw faction.
Description[]
Skrag is the legendary Prophet of the Great Maw, also known as the Gore-Harvester and the Maw-that-Walks. Dragging his massive meat-pot behind him – attached to his back with a series of painful, tearing hooks and chains – Skrag hacks and rips at his enemies in a glorious blood-fuelled dedication to the Great Maw. In his wake, he leaves a trail of dismembered limbs and body parts, which it is the duty of his Gore-Gnoblars to retrieve and deposit into his cauldron.
Campaign Description[]
The Realm of Chaos[]
"The Ogre Kingdoms, a group of greedy, brutish tribes that fight with each other over riches and meat, are found in the east across the Mountains of Mourn. Oft-times, their violence spills out beyond the mountains, and so the Ogres roam far, occasionally even welcomed as mercenaries.
Skrag, the Prophet of the Great Maw, is such a wanderer, and that is why he makes such an ideal candidate for this quest.
I trek across the Chaos Wastes, avoiding the slave patrols in the Dark Lands, and at last reach the Ogre Kingdoms. I fear I will not have long to make my case before the audience get hungry."
Immortal Empires[]
Driven by visions of the Great Maw, Skrag has encamped in Karak Angazhar and roams the Border Princes seeking to feed his insatiable appetites for war and meat.
Attributes[]
Wizard Lord
- ▲ Spellcaster: This unit can cast spells.
- ▲ Armour-Piercing: The damage of
armour-piercing weapons mostly ignores the armour of the target, making them the ideal choice against heavily-armoured enemies. They are often heavier and attack at a slower rate though, making them less efficient against poorly-armoured targets.
- ▲ Anti-Infantry: Anti-infantry units have an advantage against targets that are smaller than a horse. This advantage can be a damage bonus against small targets, superior weight used to smash through lighter enemies, or an explosive attack from range that effects a large area.
- ▲ Ogre Charge: When attacking braced charge defenders, this unit only loses half of its charge bonus.

Talent Tree[]
Strategy[]
Skrag is a spell-caster who is also a decent melee fighter. He deals good amount of damage against infantry but will fall behind against melee-focused Lords or Duelists. It's best to leave him to fight against mid-high-tier infantry that isn't anti-large. Like 90% of the Ogre Kingdoms characters except the Hunter, Skrag lacks a mount which is quite a challenge when attempting to catch up with faster enemies.
His skill-tree allows him to focus on an army with the Ogre Kingdoms's beasts or units with small amount of entities, along with the fact that he's possibly the only Ogre Kingdoms character that can heal with Trollguts, other than Butchers/Slaughtermasters that use the same Lore of Magic as him.
