Excess incarnate: a body unravelled and a soul detonated by dark sensation upon dark sensation. A writhing, gnashing obscenity.

Spawn of Slaanesh are a Slaanesh Slaanesh, Wh3 main dae daemon prince 256 Daemons of Chaos, and Warhost of the Apocalypse Warriors of Chaos monstrous infantry unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer III.

Recruitment[ | ]

Description[ | ]

A warrior who is visited by too many gifts of Slaanesh eventually succumbs to madness and mutation. His altered body reaches a point where reason no longer sustains it, and he wails in anguish as his flesh ripples, sprouts and writhes, undergoing the most profound and final of changes. Truly, Chaos Spawn have a thousand faces and forms.

Attributes[ | ]

  • Wh3 dlc20 chs spawn Monstrous Infantry
  • Anti-Infantry: Anti-infantry units have an advantage against targets that are smaller than a horse. This advantage can be a damage bonus against small targets, superior weight used to smash through lighter enemies, or an explosive attack from range that effects a large area.
  • Damage Dealer: This unit has a strong emphasis on dealing damage. If fighting it, make sure to take it out before it can get into firing or melee range.
  • Soporific Musk: The attacks of this unit reduce the enemy into a stupor, lowering their ability to attack and defend themselves.
  • Unbreakable: This unit does not suffer any form of Icon moraleleadership loss and will never rout.

Strategy[ | ]

Slaanesh struggles a bit for anvil units, particularly without the Champions of Chaos DLC, and that's potentially where Spawn come in. They act very much like Forsaken with the additional bonuses of Unbreakable, Fear and doing more damage, making them a pretty good unit to put in the middle of your line and then hopefully forget about while you're microing the flanks - or behind a line of shields and then unleashed when they engage, if you're worried about missiles.

As with all Spawn though, their animations are quite poor and they rarely do as much as their stats suggest. They can also get focused down by spears and missiles quickly. A two turn recruitment is a killer blow for them in campaign since that's how long Exalted Daemonettes of Slaanesh take from the exact same building, and Chaos Warriors of Slaanesh are much better tanks. Stick with the Forsaken if you want something cheaper.
