The gift of Change gone too far, transforming its recipient into a horrifying mass of flesh, innumerable eyes and screaming mouths.

Spawn of Tzeentch are a Tzeentch Tzeentch, Wh3 main dae daemon prince 256 Daemons of Chaos, and Warhost of the Apocalypse Warriors of Chaos monstrous infantry unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer III.

Recruitment[ | ]

Description[ | ]

A creature visited by too many gifts of the Dark Gods inevitably succumbs to madness and mutation, and becomes a Chaos Spawn. A once-humanoid form that has sprouted and burst into an obscene and monstrous anatomy, mutated almost beyond recognition. The eyes of the original creature peer out, a glint of its former personality barely perceptible amidst the fleshy ruin. Chaos Spawn are creatures of unspeakable horror, their twisted bodies sporting an impossible array of spines, eyes and mouths.

Attributes[ | ]

  • Wh3 dlc20 chs spawn Monstrous Infantry
  • Barrier: This unit has a barrier that absorbs damage until depleted. When not taking damage, the barrier will slowly replenish. Maximum barrier health is proporsional to remaining unit health.
  • Anti-Infantry: Anti-infantry units have an advantage against targets that are smaller than a horse. This advantage can be a damage bonus against small targets, superior weight used to smash through lighter enemies, or an explosive attack from range that effects a large area.
  • Armour-Sundering: The Wh2 dlc12 unit contact sundered armourarmour-splitting attacks of this unit can significantly weaken the target's armour.
  • Unbreakable: This unit does not suffer any form of Icon moraleleadership loss and will never rout.

Strategy[ | ]

Spawn of Tzeentch are unique among marked spawn units for two reasons - first, their access to Barrier, which boosts their otherwise questionable survivability, particularly when cycle charging in and out of combat, allowing their Barrier to replenish periodically. The Changeling in particular can boost their movement speed to near-cavalry levels, making them much more effective at cycle charging.

Secondly, they are one of the only mass-recruitable units that apply Sundered Armour, reducing the armour of enemies they attack by 30. As the Tzeentch roster has many powerful units that lack armour piercing, they can be an effective force multiplier for many army lineups.

They still suffer from the same problems other spawn have; low armour, no resistances, and Unbreakable being something of a mixed bag - while they'll never break, if they engage something they can't beat and you don't pull them out they'll be slaughtered and you'll have to recruit a new entire unit. While they don't require constant micro like some units, you should keep an eye on them.
