Stonesky Foothills is a province introduced in Total War: Warhammer III, located in the Northern Chaos Wastes.
Background[]
The Stonesky Foothills are a hardbitten area of the Eastern Steppes, north west of the Great Bastion, which in times past belonged to the Hobgoblin Empire. Khengai Khan, the legendary founder of the Empire and one of the few Hobgoblins to successfully die of old age, is buried at the Volary. Another point of interest is Granite Spikes, where the Stonehorns of the Mountains of Mourn go to finally ossify entirely into stone, leaving eerie, bejewelled statues in death.
These days the Hobgoblins are an obeisant servant class of the Chaos Dwarfs, and this area is under the iron boot of Zhatan the Black, who has led his war host here looking to impose his will on the wild savages and demons that lie further to the east, then test what the Great Bastion makes of the greatest weapons of mass destruction the world has ever known.
