The Alchemist is a unique dilemma for the Dark Elves race introduced in Total War Warhammer II and part of the loyalty game mechanic.
This random chance dilemma can only be triggered once for a high loyalty lord and gives the player three choices with differing bonuses and effects, namely:
- The crafted Satchel of Potions enchanted item in exchange for a moderate lord loyalty cut
- A moderate money payment, and a minor lord bonus experience and loyalty increase
The name of the lord that triggered this event is displayed under the dilemma name.
In-game description[]
An Asur Mage has been captured in a recent raid. Your Lord desperately wants to make them their personal slave. However, this Mage has a gift for prophecy, so it might be beneficial to claim to claim him as your own...
Requirements[]
- Player is a Dark Elves faction
- Player has a lord with high loyalty (10)
Trigger timing[]
- As soon as all requirements are met there is a random chance chance the dilemma will trigger immediately.

Option 1: He is mine![]
- Loyalty: -3
- Satchel of Potions
Hated foes are not kept around for pleasure! Have the slave dragged to the dungeons and torture him until he reveals everything he knows!
Option 2: You can have him![]
- Bonus experience: +750 for < lord with high loyalty >
- Loyalty: +2
- Treasury: +2500
An Asur slave is priceless and brings great prestige. The Lord can have him if he wishes, but not without paying his weight in riches!
Strategy[]
- It pays off to improve lord loyalty and keep it high as this dilemma can provide a variety of bonuses and effects which can support your campaign strategy.
- High loyalty dilemmas are triggered only once per lord so it may be helpful to consider how your choice fits in with your long term strategy.
