The Barrier Idols is a province introduced in Total War: Warhammer III, located in The Southlands.
Lore[]
Along Nehekhara's northern and southern borders stand great idols of dressed stone, each in the likeness of one of the Great Land's gods. Whether these monoliths are intended to contain the restless spirits of the Land of the Dead, or to deter invaders, none can say. The Savage Orc Tribes endemic to this area have erected their own huge depictions of Gork - or possibly Mork - in crude mimickry.
Further to the east, near Deff Gorge, can be found the Pillar of Bone, a huge, gangling structure that appears to be made out of solid bone. When the Winds of Magic are at their raging height, arcane fulcrums like this rise from the earth, grounding and dissipating their wild energies. The Pillar is a rare example of a fulcrum that did not crumble away when the Winds ebbed, and although the energies that once coursed through it have long since dissipated, mages continue to journey to the edifice to clamber to its ossified peak, hoping to commune with the memory of wild magic at its most potent.
