Total War: WARHAMMER Wiki

The Blood God's Domain is Khorne's main region in the Realm of Chaos.

Your opponents there are from Rogue Armies and Brazen Throne, representing the many warriors who endlessly fight and kill in the domain.

Description[]

BrassCitadelBattleMap

A battle map located in the Realm of Chaos, in the Brass Citadel of Khorne

"He looked at me with eyes of hatred and rage, and now the fury is mine"

To enter the Blood God's Domain, an army must use a Chaos Rift to cross into the Realm of Chaos, and choose the destination as "The Blood God's Domain."

The goal in the Blood God's Domain is straightforward: defeat enemy armies to reach the Brass Citadel, then defeat the Khorne Daemon Prince called The Gatekeeper.

Additionally, allied recruitment and regiments of renown recruitment is disabled in this province/area

Rogue Armies[]

Points of Interest[]

  • Brass Citadel - "To approach the Brass Citadel, Khorne must be appeased. Kill the many foes drawn from across the mortal plane that now stand in your way. Only when you reach a certain amount of bloodshed will the Blood God entertain your approach!"
  • The Tree of Souls - "Dangling from the Tree of Souls are all manner of weapons and ordnance. Perching - and oft times flying around the tree - are a murder of ghostly crows, the victims of the weapons that hang from its branches. Will you add to the flock?"
  • Machina Daemonium- "The forges in the Daemonium are powered by the breath of Hashut, a fire hotter than the stars. The weapons forged within are as powerful as any trinket cast by any Dwarf god or Elven smith of legend."
  • Skull of the First - "The Skull of the First glowers high above Khorne's realm. Some say it was Khorne's first kill. A trophy he kept in the sky. Deep within its eye socket is a shard of the weapon that killed the First. Such a blade would surely be one of the greatest in all creation?"
  • The Wrathgate - "There are challengers waiting afore the Wrathgate, eager to prove their worth and trigger the infinitesimally-small chance that mighty Khorne will turn His head and gaze out from the Brass Citadel and notice them. Until that time, the weapon racks by the gates are fully stocked"

Items[]

These powerful items can be claimed while in the Blood God's Domain. They can be taken out of the Realm of Chaos and used. However, if you re-enter the Realm of Chaos again, the item will be removed because "Khorne is a jealous God".

Strategy[]

Khorne's realm is the most straightforward and least complicated of all four. Khorne only wants two things -- blood, and skulls. If you want to challenge him at his house, you need to give him what he wants! Anything you kill while in The Blood God's Domain will give you Bloodshed points, with the amount depending on how hard it is to kill. You need to kill enough things to fill up that bar so you can go face the big man's personal entourage.

That's it. No tricks, no twists. Kill things to progress quest.

So get to it! The Blood God's Domain is full of Rogue Armies of widely varying type and composition, representing the bottomless supply of warriors who fight endlessly in this realm for exactly the same reason you are now -- to earn Khorne's favor. These are all hostile to you and will charge you if you get too close, though they will not wander from their standard positions. If there's one you particularly hate fighting, you can avoid it and focus on the others. The lower-right corner of the Domain also has a stack of standard Khornate troops courtesy of the Brazen Throne who respawn on basically the same principles, if fighting them is your preference. Crushing between three and five of the various stacks running around should give you enough Bloodshed points to go challenge the Gatekeeper, though you may also then have to fight through another stack to get to the Citadel.

When (not if) your army gets beaten up in this murder-quest, you can either Encamp up to patch up (there's no attrition here), or proceed to one of the four corners -- the Points of Interest will fully heal your army once per visit, and also give you a very powerful (and VERY cursed, all of them giving +10 local Khorne corruption when equipped) weapon of Khorne. This will auto-equip to your Leader Lord (even if they have a Legendary weapon already), though it can then be re-equipped to anyone you want, including people outside the Realm; you can keep it until you return to any of the Chaos Realms, at which point Khorne will take it back since you've had enough fun.

Additionally, take note -- the statement "anything you kill while in the Blood God's Domain" means ANYTHING. That is to say, if one of your competitors shows up in the Blood God's Domain attempting to do the same thing? They are COMPLETELY fair game; stackwiping them will give you Bloodshed points just like any of the things that are there already. Unless you have another reason for not wanting to be hostile to them (usually some combination of Kislev, Cathay, and Goldtooth's Ogres wanting to remain friendly or allied for the benefits), an opponent showing up in the Blood God's Domain while you're there should not just be considered fair game, but a priority target. If you can wipe their main stack, it's a massive setback for them while also advancing you straight to the Brass Citadel's front door. So make some enemies!
